The relation between Turkey and Israel dates back to the year 1949. Turkey was the second Muslim majority country to recognize the State of Israel after Iran. The relation was based on the military cooperation between the two sides as Turkey depended on the Israeli weapons in arming its army in addition to the presence of an active trade exchange between the two sides that continued to increase till it became 5700 billion dollars in 2014.
