
Introduction:
The UAE was originally established on a federal union among seven emirates in the south eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula. It consisted of 7 emirates: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Fujairah, Sharjah, Dubai, Ras al-Khaimah and Umm al-Qaiwain. The capital is AbuDhabi whose area is 80% of the UAE. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the then Emîr of Abu Dhabi, and Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Emîr of Dubai, with British support and guidance, worked to form a federal union on December 2 1971.
