Despite the surprise of many who followed the scene on TVs when King of Bahrain Hamad Al Khalifa presented the Russian President Putin a Damascene sword, King Hamad said that he himself took part in designing the weapon; it is made from Damascus steel and the Sheath and handle are made from silver and gold. The king called the sword “sword of victory” and said to Putin while handing the sword: (For imminent victory that will be yours).
