Clearly, the Syrian file and the region in general entered a new and dangerous turning point when Turkey downed a Russian warplane; the Turkish (F16) warplanes downed a (Sukhoi) Russian warplane. Turkey said the plane violated its air space despite frequent warnings; when it did not respond, the Turkish warplane downed it.
