Some people keen on religion avoid criticising religious statements of previous scholars thinking that doing so means underestimating those scholars. These people have thus emprisonned themselves in the world of people instead of moving to the world of ideas and thoughts. By so doing, they have unwillingly strayed from the path of the early Muslim scholars who used to value logic, constructive criticism, renewal, and creativity.
